Mako inherited her momma, Timber’s wonderful personality. She is easygoing in the house and will playfully let you know when she’s feeling spunky! Mako’s second favorite place to be is on the couch next to you and she will melt into your arms. Mako’s tracking ability in the field is second to none and has multiple 400 yard plus wounded rooster recoveries.
From her sire, Dez, Mako gets her style and ground speed. Mako runs with little effort. Along with her bird savvy, she also has the all-important team work in the field. Like her sire, even at distance, Mako is working with you.
Not only is she a solid field partner, but her quiet working style has also made her one of our best duck dogs. Her marking is only second to her ability to dig crippled ducks out of the marsh.
She spent her hunting season in 2022 guiding in South Texas having over 600 quail shot over her. She has also hunted wild sage grouse, blue grouse, pheasants, quail, sharp tail, prairie chickens and woodcock. She’s hunted upland birds in WY, TX, IA, SD, ND and KS, as well as ducks in ND, SD, IA, KS and TX.
