The goal for Yahtzee’s breeding was to get as close to her mother, Breezy, as possible while continuing to improve trainability. We achieved that goal and then some! She is also a light switch dog that seems to have endless energy in the field yet once she walks through the door she want’s nothing more than to be curled up with you.
Some dogs are just powerful. Everything they do is explosive. We thought her momma, Breezy, was the most powerful dog we’ve every produced… then we met Yahtzee! She is a powerhouse and you can see that in every fiber of her being. She is one solid muscle!
But her sweet and cuddly side comes from her grandma, Maggie. Maggie was one of the most velcro, snuggly and cuddly dogs ever and Breezy was a lot like her momma… now Yahtzee has that same snuggly and cuddly personality and would prefer to be right on you for her snuggles!
Yahtzee has had the opportunity to handle wild birds from her very first drop in a Kansas pasture where she started out working prairie chickens. She took those skills to ND and SD hunting sharptail, huns, and pheasants. She is a naturally backing dog and retriever. She loves nothing more than switching gears and jump shooting some ducks!. She tears apart marshes and will not quit until she has found every duck. Yahtzee’s trainability has been shown as she preps for her NAVHDA Utility Test. She flew through her formal retrieving work and steadiness training and is ready to put all the pieces together and test this spring!
